Hey, this has truly been a great week! A great way to get
the Christmas season started! One of the first things that I´d like to mention
is that we had a zone conference with our mission President this last week, and
I learned a ton of stuff that i´ll be able to apply and use in my area. Also,
the mission President´s wife shared with me a scripture about how we should let
Virtue Garnish our thoughts unceasingly, and then will our confidence wax
strong in the presence of God. She said that many times, we associate virture
with the law of Chastity, but it´s not necessarily that, we just need to
maintain the Lord in our minds, and then we´ll have confidence to do what the
Lord has asked of us. But ya, this last week, an Elder that has the same
time as me, Elder Evans came to do a couple of baptismal interviews for our
area. While he was doing one of them, I was waiting outside sitting on a brick,
and he has two puppies that kept attacking me and wanting to play with me. It
was pretty much the best time I´ve ever had waiting for a baptismal interview
in my whole mission! Hahaha!
But ya, we´ve been teaching some great people, and a couple
of brothers named Alfonso and Candido have their baptismal date for this
upcoming Saturday, so please pray for them! We´ve also been meeting some great
people this week. One of them was a nice young lady named Zuli, she´s working
in the Godoy family´s house (Recent converts in the ward) and we´ve invited her
to take the discussions before, but she just liked to talk with us, and didn´t
really want anything else. But ya, one day, we were eating lunch with the Godoy
family, and we shared a scripture with them, and then, after we´d finished, she
asked us the question of why there´re so many people in the world that are
disabled. Well, we explained to her quite a few things about the plan of God,
and a great point that my comp (That day it was Elder Evans) shared was 1 Nephi
11: 17, where Nephi explains that He doesn´t know the meaning of all things,
but he knows that God loves his Children. This struck me to be very true, maybe
we can´t answer why every person is the way they are, but we know that
everything has a purpose, and God will always bless us in the end. So, whatever
difficulties that we may be having will be swallowed up in the Love of God, and
as we know, this special time of Christmas should be a time to serve others. And, as we serve, we can be
healed also.
Well, I wish you a Merry Start to a Merry Christmas!
Love you all!
